3 Days On The Blue Ridge Parkway

Yadkin Valley Overlook
One of the many overlooks with great views on the BRP . Three days of riding, Fancy Gap, VA to Greensboro, SC.  250 miles, 26K ft of climbing and a couple great nights of camping.
Day 1, the problem with a 5 year old book about the BRP? Closed restaurants! 5 hours in & I could have really used this place.

Restaurant closed? No problem! Very friendly travelers stopped to give me a chicken biscuit when they saw the restaurant was closed. The people you meet are the best part of all trips.

Reach camp after dark, buy what I can at the gift shop & enjoy the fried chicken & biscuit from fellow travelers.

Day 3, ran into English Phill from Brooklyn on the way out of camp. 3+ hour climb to Mt Mitchell & Crabby Gardens. Great conversation helped make the 25 mile climb enjoyable. Phill turned off to Asheville as I went to Greenville, SC.
